Our trusted, high-quality children’s programming balances educational content with fun. Series and seasonal specials are broadcast daily on Knowledge in BC and are accessible anytime across Canada on Knowledgekids.ca and our free Knowledge Kids streaming app.

Chosen specifically for kids aged 2 to 8 years old, our programming supports the cognitive, social and emotional development of young learners. Literacy, math, science, cultures, the natural world, personal development (curiosity, courage, empathy), teamwork and problem solving/critical thinking are woven throughout the stories in fun, engaging ways.

Children’s Acquisitions

Knowledge Network acquires long-running series of various durations (eg. 3, 5, 7, and 11 minutes) from Canadian and international distributors.

To submit a completed children’s series, please send the following information to [email protected].

Important

  • We do not acquire one-off shorts or feature films.
  • When entering into a license agreement, Knowledge requires both broadcast and Internet streaming rights.

Second-Window Children’s Pre-Licenses

Canadian and BC producers who have secured a first-window commitment from another Canadian broadcaster (e.g. TVO, TFO, SRC) may submit a proposal for second-window consideration.

Producers are responsible for raising the series funding and ensuring the production will be eligible for a CRTC C Number or Cavco number.

  • Knowledge does not develop or commission original kids’ series as a lead broadcaster.
  • Knowledge does not provide pre-development letters of support or development funding for children’s programming.

Proposals for second-window children’s pre-licenses may be submitted at any time using the form below. Decisions are driven by our fiscal year which begins April 1 and other considerations such as the Canada Media Fund cycle.

Proposals are evaluated on an ongoing basis and we will respond within 8 weeks. Projects that do not have a first-window broadcast commitment may not receive an answer within that timeframe.
